Everyday people like you have tasks to accomplish. Do you need to cut grass? Plow snow? Move dirt? Maintain land? Consider your core tasks when selecting a compact utility tractor. We often find ourselves working in varied locations. and conditions. Whether your working in hilly terrain, extreme heat or cold, or on large acreage land, knowing these factors play an important role in choosing the right tractor as well.

The Right Transmission

What kind of transmission will you need? Automatic Transmission provide a much greater ease-of-use and efficiency. They’re great if you plan on working more than one day a week. Manual Transmissions are good for routine tasks or working just a few hours per week.

Power Needs

You must also understand your power needs before purchasing a new tractor. This is influenced by the type of work you will be performing. Here are some important definitions to know regarding power:
  1. Horsepower: The raw power and engine can produce.
  2. PTO Horsepower: The power an engine actually sends to do the work.
  3. Torque: Rotational force that can move loads.
Tractor Features

There are a variety of tools that can extend the usefulness of your new tractor investment. It is good to consider which tools are right for your specific needs. Some of these tools include loaders, rotary cutters, tillers, mid-mount mowers, aerators, backhoes, blades, box blades, manure spreaders, hay tools, and more.
John Deere Safety Features

Safety should be a key concern when purchasing a new tractor. Where the safety or you and those around you are concerned, John Deere is a pioneer in the industry, continually setting higher new standards with their revolutionary new safety systems and precautions. John Deere tractors offer their patented Rollover Protective Structure (RPS), Operator Presence System, Color-Coded Levers, and a Safety Interlock to ensure your safety.

The Right Tractor for the Right Job

Knowing which type of machine is right for you is another important thing to consider before purchasing a tractor. Here is some basic information about three types of tractors offered here are Kirk Equipment:
  1. Riding Lawn Equipment:
RLE is great for smaller, focused tasks like mowing grass, light grading, tilling, and hauling smaller loads. This is a light duty tractor with engine horsepower ranging from 10 to 25 HP.

  2. Compact Utility Tractors:
CUTs are built for mid-to-larger sized jobs. They are heavier duty with engine horsepower ranging from 20 to 58 HP. CUTs are faster than Lawn and Garden tractors and can do more work, and they also have a wide-range of implements available.

  3. Utility Tractors:
UTs are engineered for heavy work. They are similar to Compact Utility Tractors but are even more heavy duty with superior torque and power. UTs range from 50 to 91 HP, and are appropriate for large-scale tasks.
